Anti Fakes — Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-04-29 Last updated: 2026-04-29 Publisher: Hogan Sung (sole developer / hes.labs.dev) — hes.labs.dev@gmail.com
By installing or using Anti Fakes (“the app”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.
1. The app, in plain language
Anti Fakes is a free voice-driven trivia game. Each round shows you a fictional or distorted statement; you have ~15 seconds to call out what is wrong; an AI judge scores your answer. The app is provided as-is, for entertainment and educational use.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. The app is not directed at children under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority in your country, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian.
3. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app’s source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Modify, redistribute, or rebrand the app.
- Use the app to build a competing service or to harvest its content (including the fictional statements / “records”).
- Use the app for anything illegal, abusive, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
4. Your content
The app records short voice clips during a round and sends transcripts to an AI judge. The transcripts may be stored as part of your round history. You retain whatever rights you have in your own voice and in the words you choose to say. By using the app you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to process those transcripts and the resulting scores only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy — running the game, debugging, and improving content. We do not use them for advertising or for training third-party AI models.
If you submit feedback (thumbs-up / thumbs-down / written comments), you grant us the same license to use it for improving the game. We may quote anonymized feedback in release notes or aggregate summaries.
5. Game content
The “records” the app reads to you are intentionally fictional or factually distorted. They are designed to be wrong on purpose so that you can call out the errors. They are not statements of fact, accusations, or endorsements by us about real people or events. The corrections that the AI judge produces are best-effort outputs of a language model and may themselves be inaccurate or incomplete; they are not professional fact-checking, journalism, or legal advice.
If you believe a record contains content that is unsafe (e.g. defamatory in a way the gameplay framing does not make obvious, or that violates someone’s rights), please email us so we can review and remove it.
6. AI-generated outputs
- Scores and feedback are produced by a third-party large language model (Google Vertex AI Gemini). The score is the model’s best estimate, not an authoritative judgement.
- Transcripts are produced by a third-party speech-to-text service (OpenAI Whisper). They may misrepresent what you said, especially in noisy environments, with strong accents, or in languages other than the round’s locale.
- We do not guarantee correctness, and we are not liable for any decision you make based on AI-generated output in the app.
7. Availability and updates
- The app depends on third-party services (Apple, Google Firebase, OpenAI). When those are down, the app may not work; we owe you no service-level commitment.
- We may push forced updates through Firebase Remote Config when an older build can no longer talk to a newer content bundle or has a critical bug. If you decline to update, the app may stop working until you do.
- We may discontinue the app or change features at any time. If we shut the service down, we will try to give 30 days’ notice via the app’s release notes.
8. Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy. It explains what we collect, why, and who else processes it.
9. Third-party terms
Two third-party services receive data from the app and have their own terms you implicitly accept by using us:
- OpenAI API — openai.com/policies/terms-of-use
- Google Cloud / Firebase — firebase.google.com/terms and cloud.google.com/terms
If those terms change in a way that breaks our app, we’ll respond with an update.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED USD 50 OR THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We can suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms.
13. Apple-specific terms
If you obtained the app from Apple’s App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (which is zero) for the app to you. Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app.
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Google-specific terms
If you obtained the app from Google Play, you also agree to abide by the Google Play Terms of Service and applicable Google policies.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. (Local mandatory consumer-protection laws may grant you additional rights that these terms cannot waive.)
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date. If the changes are material we will surface a notice on the app’s home screen on next launch.
